About project
DOWN is a social app for honest dating and interesting conversations with over 10 million users. Users can choose whether they want to Date or Hookup (in American slang, “Get Down”) with other users, so their intentions are clear. Plus, we are adding fun voice features and apps to expand in social beyond dating!

Qualifications and skills
- 3+ years of experience in Android development
- Fluency in English
- “Get it done” mindset
- A team player used to the culture of sharing and able to work with partially remote team
- Excellent communication skills and comfortable communicating with engineers
- Self-sufficient but comfortable taking guidance
- Proficient with Kotlin, knowledge of Kotlin/Java & Jetpack Compose would be a plus
- Experience with Android frameworks
- Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
- Familiarity with RESTful API’s to connect Android applications to back-end services
- Knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards
- Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
- A knack for benchmarking and optimization
Responsibilities
- Design and build our Android App
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
- Collaborate with the team to define, design, and ship new features
- Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
