StartupSoft's story begins with Andrew and Alex Vasylyk, two brothers who moved to Canada in 2004. They ventured into entrepreneurship in 2012, diving into the startup scene. Known for their knack for building strong relationships, Andrew and Alex, along with a team of eight, launched StartupSoft in 2016 in their hometown of Ternopil, Ukraine.
From the get-go, StartupSoft showed its knack for long-term relationships. In 2017, Westrive came on board as one of StartupSoft’s first clients. Later on, the company hit its stride with team augmentation. The first major success in this area was with Madefire. It wasn’t just about services; it was about speaking the same language and building trust. This understanding helped StartupSoft grow to over 100 clients in the USA, Canada, Germany, and more.
By 2019, the company was looking for new spaces, as the team was expanding. Our natural choice for the next office was Lviv, which is a prominent technology hub in Eastern Europe, located ~60 miles from Poland. Here, our team continued to grow, and today, StartupSoft's total headcount is 170 tech-savvy experts.
In the early days, StartupSoft was just a handful of passionate individuals. Today, our team members are based in Lviv, Ternopil, Krakow, San Francisco, and Toronto. With a high retention rate of 90%, much higher than the industry average, our employees often refer friends and ex-coworkers, contributing to 75% of our hires. This growth and loyalty have transformed StartupSoft into a thriving company.
We were amazed by all the care and support our friends and partners have given us since the war started. Soon enough, we realized that when people say they want to do something for Ukraine, they really mean it. That’s why we created a charity fund to help our international friends and partners take a part in our common fight for Ukrainian lives.
Together, we've already donated over 10 million UAH, manufactured 1000 ballistic vests and shipped life-saving gear to the front lines.
